Wikka 1.2 release: Theme support and advanced table markup

with 10 comments

I am proud to announce the release of WikkaWiki 1.2–possibly the most important Wikka upgrade since years.

Menu template filesNew default page layout

1.2 is a major release introducing new functionality such as: support for 100%-modular themes, a completely redesigned default layout, menu templates, an advanced table markup, among other enhancements.

The full feature list is available in the release notes, but we will publish in the next days a series of posts to guide users through the new features of Wikka 1.2.

Let me thank Brian for his priceless work on this release, Tormod (who finally sees his brilliant table markup included in an official release) as well as all of our contributors that helped us fix bugs and address issues affecting previous versions over the last months.

Wikka 1.2 is available for download from this page.

  2. It looks great! I don’t know if you have time but I was wondering about how can I translate the whole code into a different language? Also, I edited the main menu following your documentation and now the the menu links are standing vertically. Any advice? Thanks much!

  3. Hi Laurentiu, we are introducing lang files in the next major release. You can start a ticket for a specific language following these examples. For support on the menu configuration, I suggest you register to the community mailing list and post your request or join us on IRC.

  4. After checking your website, it looks like you are using a custom class for the main menu (main_menu_ro). You should use the same class in the stylesheet of the theme you are using.

  6. Support:
I’m new to Wikkawiki, with a new install on Bluehost and I”m trying to get the default search form to work. I can’t seem to find any documentation on how to get this function operational.

    Any Suggestions?
    Thanks!!!

  7. Hi John,

I tried to replicate this issue using the latest SimpleScripts distribution of Wikka and I can confirm that the search form is broken (while it’s not in the standard Wikka distribution). I reported the problem to Ben Merrill (who manages SimpleScripts) as this is unfortunately something that needs to be addressed from their side.

  8. Congratulations!
    The 1.2 release looks impressive!
I’ll see if i get the time to sync changes into Wikula (the Zikula port of WikkaWiki).

Thanks for the hard work :-)

  9. Howdy! Congrats on 1.2, looks good!

    Upgraded at shirlsworld.net/wikka/

No problems, after I remembered to change permissions of the config file… grrrr… That gets me every time! ;)
