Announcing the release of Wikka 1.1.6.4-RC1
The Wikka development team has made Wikka 1.1.6.4, release candidate 1 (RC1) available for download and testing. Please download from the WikkaWiki home page. Additional links to the release notes and issue tracker can be found there as well. While this release candidate has been thoroughly vetted by the development team, we do not recommend its use in a production environment. We anticipate the final release of Wikka 1.1.6.4 to occur at the end of the month.
Thank you so much for your patience. We believe this release will be well worth the time to upgrade to, as it addresses several spam-related issues that have cropped up with earlier Wikka versions over the past few months.
Installed on winXP/ EasyPHP … looks good, no problems so far.

Clean install on WinXP/EasyPHP before upgrading my site:
There are two major interests for me (because I will promote te use of WikkaWiki):
1.- easy of use of upgrading files: files action. in RC1 works fine, I can use the images I upload with this action. In 1.1.6.3 doesnt work. But in RC1 I can not download files, error: "Unknown method; the method name must not contain special characters."
2.- I closed the comments in my site due to so much spam. With the RC1 I can not check if it works, I become a message "This page doesn’t exist yet. Maybe you want to create it?" when I try to post a comment.

Installed on a typical LAMP shared hosting environment. Looks GOOD. Any news on the final release date?

JimR, thanks for the heads up. All documentation- and code-related tickets for 1.1.6.4 are closed. We are polishing a few minor glitches, after that we should be finally ready to release
